There is less wood used in the construction of the shell of a SIP house than in a conventional wood-frame house.
The OSB is the wood component of a SIP and it comes from younger farm-grown trees that are a renewable resource. Also the thermal performance of a SIP building reduces resource consumption because it costs less to heat and cool due to the buildings higher energy efficiency.
There is also less waste when a project is using a SIP system, this saves the customers money and respects the environment.
